Kennedy Center building history
Late in 1966, there was talk of a possible project to build a permanent home for the North Dakota Democratic-NPL headquarters in the capital city of Bismarck. Similar projects and dreams had been talked of before without resulting in a serious effort. But this time was different. On November 6, 1971, Senator Ted Kennedy participated in the official dedication ceremony for the Kennedy Memorial Center.
Read the story of the iocnic building’s history as told by North Dakota Governor William L. Guy, from early ideas through the fundraising and construction stages to the fulfillment of the dream of many.
